A french manufacturer forsoundabsorbing for car engine has asked us to find a self inflate system. The aim was to maintain a mold’s bead ring during foam injection. With this new system, the manufacturer wanted to optimize manufacturing and decrease the final step avoindind piece deburring.
Needs and constraints
We got some technical constraints to integrate this new pressing system:
- little width under modls : 650 x 500
- little hight under molds : 23 mm
- limited time for squeezing
- a 14 ton push force
- the force needs to be equalized / balanced
- openned stroke : 90 mm
- the limited temperature range is : 70 °C

After visiting us, Pronal has given its technical offer composed of 2 custom made lifting bag. They have been fitted to the industrial environment:
- bead ring position was optimized for inflating air
- dimensions : 650 x 500 mm
- thickness : 18 mm
- safety coefficient was uot tp : +4
- working pressure : 58 PSI – 4 Bar.
The tray on which is hte lifting bag has been bored in order to fix and inflate the lifting bag thanks to pipework.
Conclusion
Those lifting bags can be easily removed and are totally fitted to the machine. As pressure is balanced on the mold’s side, we were able to reach manufactuer’s aim. Up to today we have supplied a dozen of lifting bags.
