Several of the machines are heavier than the lift capacity of the existing crane. These companies use lifting bridges to handle these machines.
However, there are times when the weight of machines exceed the lift capacity of the crane. Investing in new cranes does not make sense when only a few of these machines have to be moved every year. This forces the manufacturer to look for alternative lifting tools so that the transport rollers can be inserted under the machine.
Constraints
Our customer, a french designer and manufacturer of numerically controlled machines, has contacted us to lift his machines. Indeed, the latter are becoming heavier and their weight has reached the capacity limit of the crane of 20 tons. Their new machines now weigh 25 T.
Application : To lift a machine tool to set up transport pads. The crane has a capacity limit of 20 T.
- Load to be lifted: 25 T
- Height between floor and chassis: 100 mm
- Lift height: 85 mm
- Total height: 185 mm
- Reduced contact surface on the frame
- Control the lifting systems simultaneously to lift the machine on the right.
Solution
In addition, the cushions were controlled “remotely” by a mobile control unit. This essential device provided the necessary security for its operators when handling the machines.
